Lonzo Walter Dickens, age 77, of Plainview, AR died Tuesday, April 11, 2000 at his home in Plainview, AR. He was born in Scott County, AR April 25, 1922 son of the late Walter Eugene and Iva Starr Dickens. He was a retired mechanic.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Hershel Dickens; two sisters, Julie Dickens and Opal Johnson; a grandson, Mike Dickens and a granddaughter, Lee Ann Meriweather.

Survivors include, his wife, Eva Wagner Dickens; a son, Lonnie Dickens of Centerville, AR; two daughters, Sue Bun of Dardanelle, AR and Fay Meriweather of Plainview, AR; a brother, Bob Dickens of Belleville, AR; a sister, Clarsie Smith of Havana, AR; three grandsons, Doug Dickens of El Dorado, AR, Shawn Loyd of Fayetteville, AR and Jim Bob Meriweather of Plainview, AR; a granddaughter, Rhiannion Ward of Dardanelle, AR and four great grandchildren.

Funeral service was April 15, 2000 at the Plainview First Baptist Church. Burial was in Salem Cemetery in Plainview, AR. Pallbearers were Kenny Loyd, Jimmy Carter, Cecil Reed, Ken Ryan, Mitch Forrest and Jonathan Graham. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville, AR.
