Jewell C. Anderson, 84, Lawson, (formally of Lathrop), died March 6, 2011, at the Lawson Manor nursing facility. Jewell was born on June 2, 1926, in Lawson, to Jewell Farris and Bessie (Walker) Anderson. He was a graduate of Lathrop High School and retired from Ford motor Company after many years. Jewell was also a farmer. He was a member of the Lawson United Methodist Church and a member of the United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 249. He married Erma F. Green on March 30, 1946. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2001. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a bother, Keith Anderson. Survivors include his children, Larry and Janice Anderson of Richmond, Carolyn Kaske of Kansas City, Donald and Lilli Anderson of Turney, Philip and Denise Anderson of Kearney, and Jill and Dennis O'Connell of Kearney; his brother and sister in law, Robert and Lucile Anderson of Converse; 17 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren. Service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, at the Bailey & Cox in Lathrop. Burial will be in the Converse Cemetery near Lathrop. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The family suggests memorial gifts to the Lawson Manor Nursing Home.
