Giesecke, Adolph H. "Buddy" Adolph H. "Buddy" Giesecke, age 79, a resident of Irving for 51 years, died Saturday, December 24, 2011 at home. He was born April 19, 1932 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents, Adolph Hartung and Goldia Linn Giesecke. On June 11, 1954, he married Veronica "Roni" Morel in Galveston, Texas. Buddy was a graduate of the Texas Military Institute, University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Medical Corps in 1960 at the rank of Captain. He was a Professor Emeritus at UTSW Medical Center in Dallas, where his career spanned nearly 52 years, and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Irving. Preceded in death by his parents and aunts and uncles, Reva and John Forbis, and Margaret and Carl Gustav Giesecke, survivors include his wife Roni of Irving; children, Carl Giesecke and wife Debra of Flower Mound, Suzanne Zarling and husband Kevin of Austin, Martin Giesecke and wife Susan of Dallas, Hans Giesecke and wife Kelly of Richardson; grandchildren, Christian, Gabby and Aidan Giesecke and Keenan Zarling and Kristofer and wife Megan Zarling; cousins, Sue Dittman of New Braunfels, Patricia Bryant of Austin, John Forbis of Old Lime, Connecticut. A Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31 at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 2700 Warren Circle, Irving, TX 75062, to The Wood Library-Museum of Anesthesiology, 520 North Northwest Highway, Park Ridge, IL 60068, or to the A.H.
