Died at Fairview,six miles east of Lovington,March 23, Dr. John Gibbon,aged 72 years.The funeral services held by Rev.W.C.Barker, of Arthur at the Fairview Baptist church near the residence, March 24,were attended by a large number of his old neighbors. After the services the remains were taken in charge by the Arthur Lodge No 117,I.O.O.F. assisted by the Lovington lodge and interred in the Lovington cemetery. There were over forty Odd Fellows in attendance.
Dr. Gibbon had lived here since 1869 and was well and favorably known throughout a large circle of acquaintances.
