Mrs Sarah M Ostler, wife of Alonzo ostler, died at 6:55 o’clock last night at the family residence, 2704 East Main street, of a complication of diseases. She had been sick for two weeks and her condition had been serious for some time. She was the daughter of Nathan and Elizabeth Westlake and was born near Stockwell, October 6, 1854. She united in marriage with Alonzo Ostler, May 29, 1890. Mrs Ostler was an earnest member of the Methodist church and was a woman of noble character. Besides the husband, she leaves one son, Robert, two daughters, Ethel and Dora; one sister; Mrs. Ella Watkins; one brother, James Westlake. All of this city, and one half-sister, Mrs William Johnson, of Sheridan, Indiana. The funeral will be held from the home at 10 o’clock Friday morning and Rev Brown, of Congress Street M. E. church, will officiate. The interment will be in the Wildcat Cemetery, near Crane. ( Lafayette Daily Courier, November 3, 1915)
