He had served as a night-watchman for the City of Honey Grove, also as Deputy Sheriff, and worked for the Texas Liquor Board.
He had been away from here for some time, only recently returning to Honey Grove.
He had been married twice, his first wife being Mary Ethel Brannoch, and his last wife, Julia Nettie Ball.
He was a member of the Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Helen Lorene Allen and Sarah Bob Allen; his mother, Mrs. Ida Ridinger of Honey Grove; a half brother, J.C. Brown of California.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Baptist Church, conducted by Revs. T.J. Watts and Duke R. Barron.
Burial was made at Oakwood Cemetery.
