Mrs. Lucy Dabney Jones Holbert, wife of the late W. N. Holbert, died yesterday morning in Danville after a long period of declining health. Mrs. Holbert was a daughter of the late Carry Winston Jones and Annie Tappey Jones and was a native of Augusta County where she has been long identified with the public school system in that county as a teacher.
Mrs. Holbert was first married to Henry Clay Schultz, who died in 1920 and was then married to W. N. Holbert who died in 1954.
She was a life-long member of Second Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Petersburg High School and Southern College.
She is survived by two sons: C. Winston Shultz of Carson and William C. Shultz of Danville; a sister, Mrs. Amelia J. Garrison, of Richmond and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock in the Lutheran Church of the Ascension, Danville. The Rev. Kenneth Crumpton Jr., pastor will officiate and interment services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in Blandford Cemetery by the Rev. Mr. Crumpton and Dr. William B. McIlwaine Jr., pastor of Second Presbyterian Church.
