Prominent Jacksboro Woman Leaves Large Family Of Leading Citizens

Mrs. Mary Ann Perkins Baird, 76 years of age, wife of L.M. Baird, died at her Jacksboro home last Saturday morning after a long illness. Funeral services were held last Monday from the Baptist church of Jacksboro. Mrs. Baird was born July 10, 1855. She and Mr. Baird were married September 4, 1879, to which union were born four sons and five daughters, all of whom survive except the youngest, Sarah Tennessee, who died in January. Surviving Mrs. Baird are her husband and sons, Dr. A.A. Baird of Tahlequah, Okla., Daniel Luther Baird of Jellico, James Franklin and Joseph Leonard Baird, both of Jacksboro; daughters Mrs. Vernie Jane Vinsant, Mrs. Etta Evaline Wilson, Miss Ada May Baird, all of Jacksboro, and Mrs. Bertha Clarence McDonald, of Washington, D.C. Pallbearers for the funeral were Winston Baird, Millard Myers, A. Bamble, E.L. Sharp, H.T. Bartley, R. Queener and F.S. Bibbee.
