Robert Wayne Applegarth, 68, of Moundsville, WV, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in Wheeling Hospital.

He was born November 23, 1943 in Barton, OH, a son of the late Clarence and Anna Parker Applegarth.

Mr. Applegarth was a former employee of U.S. Stamping and a retired employee of Marshall County Schools.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John & Clarence Applegarth; a sister, Maryann Wright.

Surviving are his wife, Vera Wood Applegarth; two sons, Russell Applegarth and Daniel (Barbara) Applegarth, both of Moundsville; three grandchildren, Daniel Applegarth, II, Melissa Applegarth and Charles Applegarth; Uncle Fred and Aunt Pete of Barton, OH; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends were received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Monday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, where services were held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 27, 2011 with Rev. Leon Blaise officiating.
