Wesley Swayze Died Thursday, August 28
Wesley Swayze, son of Green and Louise A. Swayze, was born at Elkhorn, Nebraska, on a farm June 22, 1890. Since his fourteenth year he has been on a farm in Sherman county just south of Arcadia, first with his mother and then alone. Due to failing health about four years ago he sold his farm and moved into Arcadia. The last year of his life was one in which his health declined steadily and finally his death came near midnight on August 28th, 1954, as a result of a severe heart attack.
Wesley is survived by three brothers: Walter of Riverton, Wyoming; Oscar of Burwell, Nebraska; and Gottleb of North Platte, Nebraska. Also one sister, Irene White of Arcadia, and twenty-seven nieces and nephews are left to grieve his departure. Preceding Wesley in death were his parents, one sister, Adella Chapman, and a brother, Alvin. Wesley was converted in the Methodist church at the time of revival services by the evangelist, Rev. Hunter, in 1925. Mr. Swayze was noted for his kindly nature, hard work and honesty. Funeral services were held for Wesley Swayze Wednesday, September 1st, at the Methodist church with burial in the Arcadia Cemetery.
