Edward J. Pisko, 94, formerly of Lansford, passed away on December 24, 2011, at Maple Shade Meadows, Nesquehoning.

Born in Lansford, he was the son of the late Stephen and Mary (Kovach) Pisko.

He served in the Army Air Force 82nd Air-Borne Division during WWII as a medic.

He worked for a local garment factory, Bright's Furniture Store, Lansford, George Swartz Furniture, King of Prussia, and for Ridge Center, Lansford.

Edward was dedicated to serving the former St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Lansford for 44 years as a Sexton.

He was a member of the St. Ann's Society, the Church Choir, and was credited as being the organizer of the church Baking Club.

He was a current member of St. Katharine Drexel Roman Catholic Church, Lansford.

Surviving is a brother, Francis Pisko of Mt. Pocono; sisters, Anna DiGiacomo and Genevieve Harahus and her husband, Metro, both of Allentown; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers, John Biscoe, William, and Thomas; sisters, Louise Fiorito, Bernadine Tkach, Mary Malik, and Helen.

Services: Memorial Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at 11 a.m. from St. Katharine Drexel Roman Catholic Church, 124 E. Abbott St., Lansford.

Military interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Summit Hill. Calling hours are Thursday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Academy, Lansford or Marian High School, Hometown.

Arrangements are being handled by the Thomas J. Parambo Funeral Home of Summit Hill.
