Evelyn C. Meaney, age 87 of Olathe, Kansas formally of Eldon, Missouri passed away on December 26, 2011 at Royal Terrace Nursing & Rehab in Olathe, Kansas. She was born on September 25, 1924 in Laclede, County, Missouri the daughter of Peter and Marjorie Wyrick Colvin. She was married December 20, 1969 in St. Louis County (Clayton, Missouri) to Julius G. Meaney who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was a graduate of Business Training Institute in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was employed as secretary for the Teamsters Union Office for several years. She moved to St. Louis in 1961 and was employed for 24 years at Rossman Private School in St. Louis County as a business manager. She retired in 1985 and returned to Jefferson City moving to Eldon in 1994.
She is survived by two sisters, Bertha Campbell of Eldon, MO; and Bonnie Rhoades of Olathe, KS and many nieces and nephews. Two Brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Visitation will be on Thursday December 29, 2011 from 10:30 – 11:00 AM at Phillips Funeral Home with the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Rick Yoder officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City, MO. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Services are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO.
