1 Oct 1874, The Gadsden Times: Tribute of Respect. At a meeting of the Walnut Grove Grange, #313, L.W. Dean, W.A. Murphree & W.L. Ellison were appointed a committee to draft suitable resolutions to commemorate the death of Harvey Cornelius -- A good man has fallen...Our worthy Chaplain met with us a month ago in good health, & reasonable assurance of many days of usefulness--The pillar of his church, the stay & support of the Sabbath School, & an earnest worker in the Grange movement..Harvey Cornelius departed this life on Sept 5, 1874, in the 61st year of age, after a brief but painful illness..we tender to the family of our worthy brother our deepest sympathies in their great affliction.
