The daughter of Johannis Jr & Mary (Worral) Norman of Norley, Cheshire England, Elinor Norman was well known among Quakers as an early immigrant whose family had a significant impact on the Quaker community in America.

She married:

1. Peter Cook[e] (1673-1713) on 7 Dec 1695 in Newton, Cheshire England. He died at sea on the voyage to the Colonies.

2. John Fincher (1678-1747) in Sep 1714 Chester Quaker Meeting House, Chester Co PA.

2. Mary Cook[e] I (1696-c1708).

PETER COOK[E], of Tarvin, all in Cheshire, England, where six surviving Children were born. He d. in 1713 at sea, on the voyage to Pennsylvania.

Albert Cook Myers' unfulfilled vision of the inscription for the headstone of Elinor (Norman) Cook Fincher. Written between 1900-1910. Elinor (Eleanor) is believed to be buried in an unmarked grave in London Grove Friends Meeting, Chester Co., Pennsylvania.

It is believed Elinor's death year of c1727. She attended and signed as a witness to the marriage of step-son Jonathan Fincher and Deborah Dicks 4mo. 29, 1726 at London Grove Meeting. However on 2mo. 25, 1728 she was not in attendance to the marriage of step-daughter Sarah Fincher and Edward Swayne at London Grove Meeting.
