He was the son of Henry Cornett and Susanna Begley, Robert married Sally Combs. Robert was a causality of the French-Eversole Feud. The day that Bad Tom Smith was hung in Breathitt Co., He confessed to to murdering Robert Cornett as Robert was working on some wood logs. Smith said that Jack Combs was with him as he killed Robert Cornett. Robert was probably buried in the Cornett family cemetery at Christopher in a grave with no readable marker.

Note I believe that Sallie was the daughter of Carlo Combs and Margaret Combs. That had two sons, Robert M. Cornett and Granville Pearl Cornett.
