Joan was the daughter of Jack And Lea Emerick. She graduated from SUNY Morrisville with a Registered Nurses Degree, Gallaudet University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters Degree in Social Work from Syracuse University.Joan died after a long fought battle with Neurofibromatosis 2.
