ELLENBURG CENTER — Frances M. Tourville, 81, formerly of Carlson Street, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, surrounded by her loving family on her favorite day of the year.

She was born in Ellenburg Center, on Feb. 9, 1930, the daughter of Ellsworth and Mina (Boadway) Trombley.

Frances married Norman Tourville on Feb. 12, 1947, in St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg. Norman passed away on Dec. 27, 2002.

She worked at Arnak Ribbon Company in Plattsburgh and Tru-Stitch in Malone for many years. Frances enjoyed many things in life including knitting, crocheting and various needlework projects, but most of all she dedicated her life to her family.

Being with her family and spending time with friends brought Frances much happiness. There was always a special glow in her eye whenever she was with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters for 54 years and the Home Bureau.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Susan Tourville of Ellenburg Center, Allen and Lori Tourville of Ellenburg Center and Gerald "Jerry" and Connie Tourville of Ellenburg Center; two daughters and sons-in-law, Audrey and Robert E. Rabideau of Mooers and Patricia and James Neverett of Port Charlotte, Fla.; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Lester Trombley of Malone, Robert and Debbie Trombley of Wilmington, N.C. and Leonard and Wanda Trombley of Malone; one sister, Doris Mooney of Plattsburgh; 15 grandchildren, Todd and Tracy Rabideau, Tammy Rabideau and John Turner, Patricia and Christopher Winslow, Christina and Bill Hampton, Julie and Darren Babbie, Jackie and Tommy Lashway, James V. Tourville and Katie Jones-Tourville, Jason Tourville and Christie Coupal, Jennifer and Todd Lafountain, Meaghan and Josh Rabideau, Kelsey Tourville, Zachary Tourville, Lisa Hall, Melissa and Kevin Friedel and Jeremy Tourville and Kara Malark; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Doritha Fisher and Hilda Lagasse; one brother-in-law, Lester Tourville; and several nieces and nephews.

Frances was predeceased by her step-mother, Della Trombley; one brother, the Rev. Joseph P. Trombley; and one sister, Joan Roberts.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Rabideau Funeral Home, 5614 Route 11, Ellenburg.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Edmund's Church, Ellenburg.

Burial will take place in the spring in the parish cemetery.

Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country or the Ellenburg Center Fire Department.

Arrangements have been entrusted into the caring hands of the Rabideau Funeral Home, 5614 Route 11, Ellenburg, 594-3111.
