Betty J. Green, 64, of Grand Island, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Betty was born Nov. 17, 1947, on the farm in Nance County to Harold and Velda (Stoffel) Greek.

Survivors are: sons, Michael and his wife, Shelly, of Lincoln and Dustin and his significant other, Jennifer Markvicka; and seven grandchildren.

Betty grew up in the Wolbach area where she attended school and graduated from Wolbach High School in 1966.

After high school she attended college at Personal Training Institute in Omaha.

Betty moved to Arlington, Va., where she worked in the Navy Annex Decorations and Awards Branch.

Betty moved back to Grand Island, where she worked at St. Francis Medical Center in the medical records department.

Betty was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Wolbach.

Betty was a very quiet person and kept to herself and her work routine. Betty was a very caring and thoughtful person. She always had a smile and laughed quite often even for no reason at all. She was known to her family as a great cook.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and brother Tim Greek.
