J. M. Robertson Dies Unexpectedly.. Rites Tuesday For Man Found Dead In Bed
J.M. Robertson, 73, of Nichols Street, West Danville, was found dead in bed about 10 o'clock Sunday morning at his residence. He is believed to have succumbed about 10 o'clock - Saturday night of a heart attack, according to a report of Coroner, T. M. Edwards who viewed the body. Born July 6, 1877, in Boyle county, Mr. Robertson had lived here his entire life and was a retired railroader who had been employed for over 40 years by, the Southern Railway System. He was affiliated with First Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd McBee, Danville, and Mrs. W. A. Off man, Shelby City; six sons, Berdic P, Hugh, Lucian, and Allen Robertson all of Danville; Bernard Robertson, Ludlow, and Charles Robertson, Cincinnati; three brothers. Will Robertson, Danville, and Everett and Jack Robertson, both of Lexington; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Hogue, Danville, and Mrs. Joe Graham, Louisville, and a number of grandchildren. Funeral services have been set for 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at First Baptist Church, with the Rev Ray E. Roberts, pastor of th church, officiating, assisted by the Rev Roy Huston, Pastor of Gethsemane Baptist Church, West Danville. Active pallbearers will be Robert Robertson, Harold Robertson. Hugh Robertson . Jr., Sherrel Robertson, J. T. Lanham and Lawrence Hogue. . Honorary pallbearers will be J. S. Best, Virgil Benton, G. C Young, L. P. Creekmore, Arthur Davis, R. E. West and Everett Morris. Interment will be in Bellevue cemetery. The body will be at Stith funeral home until time to go to the church tomorrow afternoon.
