Joseph J. Adamczyk, 77, of State Hill Road, Wyomissing, died Aug. 23 at 7:20 p.m. in ManorCare Health Services Inc., Spring Township, where he had been a patient for one month.

He was the husband of Victoria J. (Klimek) Adamczyk.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, he was a son of the late John and Sally (Geffert) Adamczyk.

Adamczyk had been employed for 25 years as a truck driver and warehouse worker at Keystone Container, Muhlenberg Township, and for 10 years at Construction Fasteners, Wyomissing, retiring in 1998.

He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

Adamczyk was an Army veteran of World War II.

He is also survived by a son, Joseph, Mohnton, and two daughters, Susan V. (Adamczyk) Farnsworth and Sharon L. (Adamczyk) Kohler, both of Shillington.

Other survivors include four sisters: Gene (Adamczyk) Rollman, and Dorothy (Adamczyk) Sabol, both of Wilkes-Barre; Helen (Adamczyk) Koscak, Luzerne, Luzerne County; and Mary (Adamczyk) Wagner, Jersey City, N.J.

There also are two grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Shillington, is in charge of arrangements.
