Visitation for Velma B. Jaques, 101, will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Hillyard Baptist Church. Private burial will be at Pines Cemetery.

A 90-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Jaques died Monday. She was born in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Mrs. Jaques moved to Springdale, Washington, before settling in Greenacres. She later moved to Spokane.

During World War II, she did office work at the Galena Army Air Depot. She later worked at Hannings Nursing Home for 15 years.

Mrs. Jaques was a longtime member of Hillyard Baptist Church, where she served for more than 40 years in the preschool and toddler classrooms.

Survivors include two daughters, Lorraine Birge and Leah Bowen; seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hillyard Baptist Church.
