Billy E. Hilburn, age 71, of Pensacola went home peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday, December 23, 2011, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Billy was born August 27, 1940 in Cedartown, GA but spent most of his life in Pensacola. He was retired from International Paper as a machine operator where he worked for 39 years. Billy also worked part time as a driver for America's Auto Auction.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, William Otis and Gracie Hilburn, brothers, W.O., Joe, Seals, and Charles Hilburn, and sister, Betty Nielsen.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Ann Hilburn; son, Jimmy Hilburn (Kirsten Cooper); daughter, Lisa A. Hilburn Tipton (Don Tipton); grandchildren, Krystle Hilburn, Lisa M. Hilburn, Jesse Pearson and Christen Pearson; step-grandchildren, Jarrod Tipton and Joseph Tipton; brother-in-law, Mark Curtis; best friends, Rick Camp and Frank Simpson; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and wonderful friends.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 26, 2011 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Funeral services will at 2 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Lewis Hilburn, Terry Hilburn, Jarrod Tipton, Joseph Tipton, James Hackney, and Jay Breaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Camp, Frank Simpson, Troy Morgan and his friends and co-workers at America's Auto Auction.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Herrara and his staff, the doctors and staff of Sacred Heart Hospital, and the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice.
