Charles Russell was the fifth child of Charles L. Hare and Eva Elvira Pierce Hare. He was born in Fillmore Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota on March 16, 1900. On December 12, 1917, he married Amy Smith and together they had fourteen children. Talking to other family members, I am told they had a bunch of kids and not much else! Most of his adult life, he was a farm laborer, working for the Libby McNeil canning company.
At the time of his death, he had seven sons and three daughters living, 27 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. His obituary states two sons and two daughters preceded him in death.
