Bill Orvin Franklin Phipps passed away December 21, 2011. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. followed by services at 12 noon Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Sheffield Family Life Center, 5700 Winner Road, KCMO; interment with Military Honors in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Jewish Connection Ministries, 1201 W. Gregory Blvd., KCMO 64114. Bill was born March 7, 1920, to William Franklin and Annabelle Phipps of Ava, MO. He enlisted in the Army in 1941 and served overseas. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor. He owned and operated Walt's Paint Center here in Kansas City. Bill was the author of the book "The Final Hours." Demos Shakarian, President of Full Gospel Business Men, said it was the most exciting book he had ever read next to the Bible. Bill was the International Director for Full Gospel Business Men, and the president of the Heart of America Chapter for 30 years. His greatest joy was to share his deep faith in Christ. His motto was: "Find a need and meet it, find a hurt and heal it!" He is a member of Sheffield Family Life Center. He taught the Jr. Boy's class for many years. He is survived by his wife, Marti; four children, Darla Cain, Daniel Phipps, David Burress, and Diane Caudillo; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and a sister, Theta Johns.
