He served overseas in the military in World War II as an officer in the in the Army Corp of Engineers. He received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Utah State University in Logan, Utah.
He moved his family to Yuba City, Calif., in 1956, residing there for more than 55 years and working for Cal-Trans for over 39 years.
He married Ida Erma Olsen on Oct. 7, 1950, and they were sealed in the Oakland LDS Temple on June 11, 1965. She passed away Nov. 18, 1989.
"Papa" will forever be loved and remembered by his two sons, Bruce Adams (Susan) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Brent Adams (Denice) of Los Angeles, Calif.; three daughters, Ida Niederhauser (Max) of Providence, Utah, Eula Deakin of Tremonton, Utah, and Terri (Junius) Gibbons of Mesa, Ariz.; three sisters, Elvira Jeffs of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Norma Furniss of Moreland, Idaho, and Donna Springer of Camden, N.J.; 20 grandchildren; more than 35 great-grandchildren; and countless friends and family whom were blessed to know him.
He loved being with his family, traveling and sharing produce from his garden. Raymond touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity.
Funeral services were held in Yuba City, Calif., on Dec. 17, 2011. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St., Logan, followed by a graveside service at noon in the Logan City Cemetery.
