Ima V. Gosnell, 101, of Newton, died at 3 a.m. Sunday, October 26, 2002, at Newton Rest Haven in Newton.

Visitation were from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Newton. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Brother Richard Shoot officiating.

Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Newton.

Mrs. Gosnell was born on August 7, 1901, in Jasper County, the daughter of William Calvin and Missouri Ann (Kibler) Swank. She married Lawrence Gosnell on April 8, 1927. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1957.

She was a homemaker and a member of Bogota Church of Christ.

Mrs. Gosnell is survived by a son, Bill Gosnell and his wife, Carol, of Nashville, Ind.,; two daughters, Helen Galloway and her husband, Lloyd, of Newton, and Margaret Fehrenbacher, of Olney; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Lawrence Wayne, a daughter, Shirley Dean, a grandson, David, and three brothers, Harry, Everett and Ura.
