Mrs. JOSEPH YOTT
Mrs. Joseph Yott, 69, the former Elizabeth McGurn, who had been a lifelong resident here, died Sunday morning at Putnam Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Bannington Feb 8, 1893, she was a daughter of John P. and Helen (Hawthorne) McGurn. A graduate of St. Francis de Sales Academy, she was married to Joseph Yott, a former Village trustee and grocery store proprieter, the ceremony performed by the late Rt. Rev. Msgr. Thomas J. Burke at St. Francis de Sales Church. She was a communicant of the church and had sung in its choir for many years.
Survivors besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Annette Burgess of Bennington and Sister John Paul of Rutland; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Galipeau and Mrs. Joseph Stone, both of Bennington and one brother James McGurn of Bennington; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at Mahar & Son Funeral Home Tuesday at 8:30 am and in St. Francis de Sales Church at 9 where a Solemn High Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 8 at the funeral home.
