Edith E. Madison, 84, of Nebraska City, Neb., formerly of South Sioux City, died Friday, May 23, 2003, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City. Services were May 28 at First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Dale Jirousek officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Mrs. Madison was born Aug. 4, 1918, in Jackson, Neb., the daughter of David and Bertha (Hansen) Jessen. When Edith was 8 years old, her mother died, and she was adopted by Louis and Marie Jeppesen. She married P. Raymond Madison on Sept. 11, 1943, in South Sioux City. He died March 9, 2000, in Sioux City. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Margaret Hunter and Elsie Jessen.
