CHIPPEWA FALLS - Mrs.
Jessie M. Bateman, 83, Rt. 5,
Town of Lafayette, died Sunday
morning at the Cornell
Senior Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Bateman was born Jessie
Kingsland, on Jan. 10, 1885 in
Chippewa Falls. She married
Forrest Bateman of the Town
of Lafayette on Oct. 14, 1903.
They resided on a farm in the
Town of Segal, and also in the
Town of Anson.
She and her husband, Forrest,
celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary in 1953 at the Eng-
lish Lutheran Church, Bateman,
where they were members.
Survivors are four daughters,
Mrs. John Mellquham, Rt. 4,
Chippewa Falls; Mrs. Loyal
LeMay, Rt. 1, Cornell; Mrs.
Robert Mellquham, Chippewa
Falls; and Mrs. Lloyd Gilles,
Cadott; one son, George, Rt. 2,
Holcombe; 20 grandchildren; 37
great - grandchildren; and one
brother, George Kingsland of
Ashland.
Funeral services will be held
at 2 p.m. today from the Eng-
lish Lutheran Church of Bateman,
with the Rev. D o n a 1 c
Knecht officiating. Burial will
be in the family lot at the
Bateman Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hog-
seth-Pederson Funeral Chapel
until 11 a.m. and then at the
church.
