Edward Blalock - CLAXTON - Edward Blalock, 79, passed away November 3, 2010, at his residence. A native and life long resident of Evans County, he was a member of Sikes Chapel Church. He was a Veteran of the US Army. He worked and retired from McDougald Motors, where he was a mechanic. After retirement he farmed for 15 years. He loved hunting and fishing and was a special husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Blalock was preceded in death by his wife, Oneta Lewis Blalock, his parents, Melton and Madie Blalock and brothers, Aaron and Leonard Blalock. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Linda Blalock of Claxton; brother, Alvin Blalock of Bellville; four sisters, Rona Jane Wilkes, Melba Rose, Carolyn Rogers and Wyndol (Clyde) Smith, all of Savannah; grandchildren, Jason (Heather) Blalock and Libby Blalock, all of Claxton; great-grandchildren, August, Jhase and Aralyn Blalock; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
