Arlene L. Yocum
(December 25, 1917 - November 13, 2012)

Arlene L. Yocum, 94, a resident of Montgomery, PA, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in the Muncy Valley Hospital. Born in Washington Twp., Lycoming County, PA, on Tuesday, December 25, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Bruce L. and Grace (Bair) Gruver.

Arlene was the widow of Charles E. Yocum, Sr. who preceded her in death on October 9, 1996. She was a 1935 graduate of Montgomery-Clinton High School. Earlier in life she had been employed as a feller at the H.D. Bobb Shirt Factory at Montgomery and also at the Hurrs Dairy Store at Muncy.

Arlene was a member of the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Church at Montgomery, PA and the Eagle Grange #1 at Montgomery.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol A. and Harry Riddell, Elimsport, PA; Donna A. and Kenneth Black, Allentown, PA; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles E. and Sharon Yocum, Jr., Lansdale, PA and her daughter-in-law, Judy D. Yocum of Montgomery, PA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Arlene was preceded in death by her son, Jack E. Yocum, on April 29, 2010 and by five brothers; John Gruver, Harold Gruver, Bill Gruver, Albert Gruver and Jay Bruce Gruver.

Funeral services will be conducted from the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Church, 196 Brick Church Road, Montgomery, PA at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 17, 2012 with Reverend Viking E. Dietrich, her pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Clinton Twp., Lycoming County, PA at 2:30 P.M. Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 - 12:00 P.M., at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Church, 196 Brick Church Road, Montgomery, PA 17752.
