Georgia was born in Websters Mills, PA on September 10, 1931, the daughter of the late William Lee and Ruth (Knable) Kuhn. She was the widow of Robert "Bob" Lee DeShong whom she married on September 10, 1951 and he passed away on February 4, 1991.
Mrs. DeShong was a member of the Websters Mills Free Brethren Church, McConnellsburg, PA, had worked at the Sagner Sewing Factory in McConnellsburg, PA for twenty years and also was a homemaker.
She is survived by Son Roger Lee (husband of Linda S.) DeShong of McConnellsburg, PA, Daughter Stacey Lee Shaw of McConnellsburg, PA, Sisters Jessie Pauline Hayes of Fayetteville, PA, Margaret Ellen Racilla of Fayetteville, PA, Martha Madeline Kuhn of McConnellsburg, PA, Charlotte Kathleen Goetz of Greencastle, PA, Brothers William Rankin Kuhn of Chambersburg, PA, Blair McKinley Kuhn of St. Thomas, PA, Denver Allen Kuhn of McConnellsburg, PA, Grandchildren Toby Allen Shaw, Crystal Dawn Glenn, Steven Andrew Shaw, Roger "JR" DeShong, Krysten Lynnette Betts, Great Grandchildren Lainnie Sharon Glenn and Hoyt Jeffrey Glenn. Preceded in death by sisters Mary Gladys Youse, Bannie Rosella Keefer, Marian Bernice Mellott, brothers Grover Parker Kuhn and Lee Kuhn.
Religious Service at Websters Mills Free Brethren Church, McConnellsburg, PA, at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 26th, 2011 with Pastor William Bair officiating.
Interment at Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.
There will be visitation on Tuesday, January 25th, 2011 from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Wednesday at the church.
