Mr. Noble died Friday. Born in Attalla, Ala., he was a son of the late Thomas Benton and Ellen Robinson Noble. A retired merchant, he was owner of Ben Franklin Store of Laurens for 22 years, active in community affairs and a member of First Baptist Church of Laurens.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Lefler Noble; sons, John 'Dick' Noble Jr. of The Plains, Ohio, Thomas Noble of Sain Denis, France, and David Noble of Gray Court; a daughter, Betsy Polete of Winnsboro; and brothers, Thomas Noble of Birmingham, Ala., and Jake Noble of Attalla.
