Ardith P. DAVIS, 66, R.R. 2, Argos, died at 3 p.m. Saturday in the National nursing home in Plymouth following an extended illness.
Born Oct. 18, 1904 at Foresman, he was the son of James and Docia ROSENBARGER DAVIS. His marriage was July 31, 1934, at Detroit to Louisa RIDGWAY, who survives. A retired college professor at Notre Dame, he had operated the Allen Hill motel near Argos since retirement. He had resided in Argos 31 years, moving from Chicago. He was a member of the United Methodist church in Argos.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Dr. Margaret) KEYS, a missionary in Africa, and Mrs. James (Beth) GRANBY, San Diego, Cal.; one son, Dr. Warren K. DAVIS, Wakarusa; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Truman SELL, Brook, Ind.; several nieces and nephews. One brother preceded in death.
Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the United Methodist church in Argos. The Rev. Robert HANSEN will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove cemetery at Argos. Friendsmay call at the Grossman funeral home in Argos until noon on Tuesday and at the church one hour
prior to services.
