Patrick William Gow, aged 20, of Hillsboro, OR, died at home on Monday, December 12th, 2011, from a tragic accident doing what he loved.
He was born March 19th, 1991, in Tacoma, Washington. He graduated from Century High School and attended Portland State University.
Patrick was an extraordinary young man whose life inspired and mentored those around him to live with kindness, compassion, and joy every day. His impact on others is illuminated and honored by the experiences and feelings shared by family and friends: "You left a footprint that nobody can take back and you will keep us all connected", "God needed him for whatever plans he has in store for him and everyone else he touched", "You are the reason my head is still high", "Patrick was a phenomenal son and brother for whom we were all blessed beyond measure to have loved him and been loved by him; the memory of his smile, laughter, and warm embrace will comfort us always."
Patrick expressed his commitment to his beliefs by adorning his body with the beautiful words in which he lived by, "Faith is the light of God" and "Desire Ask Believe Receive."
Through his self description he leaves us with wise words and expectations as we all journey through life, "I'm in the process of living life; I want to leave the world being remembered by making a difference; Remember you only live once."
Patrick Gow is survived by his parents, Steven and Mary Gow, Songmi and Yang Lim; sister, Kayli Gow; grandparents, Gerry and John Douglass, John and Elizabeth Stein, Hui Ku; ten Uncles; nine Aunts; numerous cousins and Buddies who were like brothers and sisters.
There will be a celebratory wake at 4p.m., Saturday, December 17th, 2011, at Finley- Sunset Hills Mortuary.
Funeral services for Patrick Gow will be held at 10a.m., Sunday, December 18th, 2011, at Finley-Sunset Hills Mortuary, 6801 S.W. Sunset Highway, Portland, Oregon, 97225. Pastor Jerry Reinbold will officiate.
