Janie Burns (Mary Jane Burns - maiden name) was one of the first female graduates from Erskine College. She started as a school teacher, then married. Later after her husband died she became the dietician for Erskine College. She was a great cook and made the best yeast rolls. She lived with her daughter, Frances for many years.
