Rites held Monday for father of Akron man

Clarence W. Barwick, 81, Pierson, died Friday, Nov. 9, 1973 at the Cherokee Hospital.

Funeral services were Monday at 11 a.m. at the Michaelson Funeral Home, Kingsley, with Rev. Harold E. Sieglaff officiating. Burial was in the Kingsley Cemetery. Mr. Barwick was born Jan. 3, 1892, at Washta. He married Mae Hoffman at Sioux City March 1, 1916. Mrs. Barwick died in 1953. He farmed in Grand Meadow Township after marriage and in 1917 he moved to Clark, S.D., where he farmed for 16 years. They returned to Grand Meadow and later lived in Garden Grove, Calif.

Survivors are two sons, Clarence J.of Pierson and Verle of Akron; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
