Mrs. Maudie Agnes Bowman Fite, 52, of Squire, died Sunday in a Welch hospital following a short illness.

She was the daughter of the late Sidney and Aulena Horton Bowman and was a member of the United Methodist Church at Endwell. She also was a member of Ellison Rebekah Lodge Number 90 at Newhall.

Survivors include her husband, Earl M. Fite; seven daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Mildred) White of Charlotte, NC, Mrs. Basil (Jane) Rose and Mrs. Darrell (Lorraine) Tucker of Pocahontas, VA., Mrs. Ronald (Mary) Collins and Mrs. Charles (Patricia) Beavers of Squire, Mrs. Garson (Louise) Boothe and Shirley Bowman of Norfolk, VA.: three sons, Staff Sgt. Ronnie Bowman of Sumter, SC, Douglas Bowman of Cedar Bluff, VA, and Larry Bowman of Squire; two step-daughters, Mrs. Mildred Olzewski of Huntsville, Alabama, and Mrs. Shirley Saucer of Mercersburg, PA; four sisters, Mrs. Jane Ball of Mabscott, Mrs. Virgie Adkins of Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Nettie Weinberger of Lakie and Mrs.Richmond of Cleveland, Ohio; four brothers, George and Davis Bowman of Horsepen, VA, Madison Bowman of Clintwood, VA and Floyd Bowman of Squire; 18 grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Endwell, with Rev. Hayward Trice and Rev. W.H. David officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield-Tazewell Road. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Rebekah Lodge will be flowerbearers.

Friends may call at the church from 5 to 9 p.m. today.

Gearing-Witten Funeral Home, Welch, is in charge of arrangements.
