Graveside service for David "Dave" McWhirter, 77, of Paradise was to be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at Annis Chapel Cemetery.

McWhirter died Monday, June 14, 2010.

Born Dec. 29, 1932, in Sentinel, Okla., to George W. McWhirter and Bernice Cunningham McWhirter, he served in the Army Reserves. He was a farmer, truck driver and worked for the Texas Highway Department. McWhirter lived in Springtown for 25 years. He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one grandson.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Onnie Chandler McWhirter; children, Vada Lee Romero of Phoenix, David Willis McWhirter and wife, Delores, of Anton, Onnie May Keeton and husband, Donnie, of Springfield, Ark., Derwin (Wade) McWhirter of Hobart, Okla., and Vicky Iglesias of Springtown; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother; and four sisters.
