Emmett Washington Jones, Jr. (E.W.) age 93 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Wednesday November 18, 2020 at his home.
Mr. Jones was born on September 4, 1927 in the Woodlawn Community of Carroll County, Virginia to Emmett Washington Jones, Sr. and Bertha Irene Ogle Jones. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Mary Jones Jennings.
Mr. Jones was the owner of Jones Nursery in Woodlawn, Virginia.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia Frost Jones of Woodlawn, Virginia; daughters and sons-in-law Deborah Jones Thompson of Florida; Karen Jones Campbell and C.L. of Abington, Virginia; Phyllis Diane Jones Ayers and Don of Mechanicsville, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Charles Michael Jones and Julia of Woodlawn, Virginia; David Wayne Jones of Rocky Mount, Virginia; Joseph William Jones of Galax, Virginia; James Jeffery Jones of North Carolina; Jonathan Jones and Jennifer; sister and brother-in-law Christine Jones Larrowe and Carroll of Woodlawn, Virginia; twelve grandchildren Bethany Campbell; Lauren Campbell; Addie Campbell; Lakyn Thompson; Joseph Jones; Grayson Jones, Sarah Chamberlan; Bryan Jones; Jillian Jones; Candace Ayers; Nathan Jones and Emily Jones; five great-grandchildren Logan; Sally; William; Wyatt and Lillian; several nieces and nephews; several special cousins.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the Woodlawn Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating. There will be no visitation. Mask and Social Distancing will be enforced at the service.
