Pauline M. Heil, 97, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at the Residency Care Center in Scottsbluff. Her funeral will be held Thursday, December 22, at 10 a.m. at the Federated Church in Mitchell with Dr. Charles H. Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at the Mitchell City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Federated Church or to the Scholarship Fund of the Kathadin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Pauline was born at Lincoln, Nebraska, on March 12, 1914, to Paul H. and Anna Marie (Ketler) Eaton. She and her family moved to Broadwater in 1919, and she graduated from Broadwater High School in 1931. Pauline attended Doane College and graduated from Chadron State College. She taught many students in their elementary grades and music classes in Broadwater, Bayard, Scottsbluff, Mitchell and Sunflower. Pauline enjoyed bridge, piano, singing, opera, and her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Pauline and Paul were married at Scottsbluff, Nebraska on June 1, 1946. They moved to Mitchell where they resided until 2002. Pauline was a member of the Federated Church, serving as a Sunday School Teacher and member of the CC Circle and Chancel Choir. She was also a member of Kathadin Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Sunflower Chapter No. 214, Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John and Karen Heil of Omaha, grandson, Paul and his wife, Jenny Heil and great-granddaughter Evelyn, all of Coralville, Iowa; granddaughters Katie Heil of Dubuque, Iowa, and Jennifer Heil of Omaha, sister-in-law Marjorie Eaton of Lincoln, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Roy and Ann Heil of Scottsbluff, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ernest and Ruth Heil of Scottsbluff, sister-in-law Dorothy Heil of Hastings, Nebraska, and many nieces and nephews.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gene C. Eaton, and by her husband Paul.
