Former Resident Dies in Ogden

James Hinck, 62, former resident of Thayne died Friday, December 29 in an Ogden hospital after a lingering illness.

He was born February 14, 1885 at Tooele, Utah a son of Andrew and Mary Mathis Hinck. His early life was spent in Thayne, where he attended school. He later moved to Grover where he met Emma Ellen Peterson. They were married in the L.D.S. Temple at Logan, September 23, 1909.

Two years ago he moved to Ogden. He was engaged in farming dairying and stock raising at Grover.

Funeral services were held at the Grover Ward Chapel Monday December 23. Bishop Jay Hepworth conducting. Opening prayer was by Louis J. Jensen.
Speakers were Bishop Delos Gardner, Bishop Ray S. Thurman, Bishop R.R. Dana and Bishop Hepworth. Music was rendered by Ivan Gardner and daughters, Ernest Turner and the choir. Benediction was by George Hepworth.
Interment was in the Grover cemetery. Ole P. Peterson dedicated the grave.

He is survived by his widow, and the following children and brothers and sisters: Mrs Leone Miller and Vera Hinck of Ogden, James Lynn Hinck, Grover; Mrs Laura Burton and Floyd Ole Hinck, Afton; Mrs Hyrum Peterson, Grover; Joseph Hinck, Salt Lake City, Frank Hinck, Vancouver, Wash. and 14 grandchildren.
