Charles K. Tennant, 90 of Rt.4, Box 37, Metz, West Virginia died Thursday, September 20, 2001 at his residence. He was born October 31,1910 in Monongalia County, West Virginia, son of the late Peter E and Augusta A. Tennant.

He was married to Virginia Bernice Yost, on April 18, 1936. To this union was born, two daughters Pauline and her husband Robert Carpenter of Illinois and Edna Ruth Gump and husband Donald Efaw of Mannington, West Virginia.
Six Sons Samuel and Loretta Tennant, of Metz WV; Sheldon and Marjorie, of Farmington, WV; David and Gloria, of Mannington, WV; Paul and Martha, of Metz, WV; Donnie of Metz, WV. And one son preceded Kay in death, Thomas Charles.

He is also survived by his wife Bernice of 65 years, one daughter in law, Sue of Burwood, Illinois; 18 grandchildren; 30 Great grandchildren and four Great, Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Kay retired from Eastern Associated Coal Company, Rachel JoAnn Mine in 1974, as a snapper. He was a member of the UMWA. He was also a member of the Church of God of Prophecy at Metz, West Virginia.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by parents Peter and Augusta and three sisters, Ossie Peters, Ethel "Peg" Wright, Lou Vaugh and five brothers, Ben, Warren, Moskie, Jasper, Bill Tennant and one grandson Charles Tennant.
