At the Home of Her Daughter at Salida, Colorado - Will be Buried Here
F. A. Wood of this city received a message from his sister last Wednesday stating that his mother, Mrs. Ellen Wood, was very ill at her home in Salida, Colorado. On Last Sunday he again received word, bearing the sad intelligence that she had passed away. Mrs. Wood was born in Westminister, Mass., Oct. 23, 1839. In 1868 she was married to Nathan Wood, she being his second wife. In March, 1872, they moved to this county where she lived until about a year ago, when she went to Colorado to reside with a daughter. Her husband died in 1889. She is survived by four sons, Chas. Of Northfield, William of Eagle Grove, Ia., Edward of Billings, Mont., Orlando of Virginia, Minn., and one daughter, Mrs. Alex Nichols of Salida, Col. F. A. Wood of this city and Mrs. M. R. Whitney of Leomister, Mass, were the step children. The remains will be brought here for burial.

Charles Wood arrived here Thursday evening from Salida, Col., with the remains of his mother, whose death was mentioned last week. The funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon by Rev. Ewell at the J. E. Child home and interment was made in Woodville cemetery. Three of the sons from away were here to attend the funeral, Charles from Northfield, William from Eagle Grove, Iowa, and Orlando from Virginia.
