Jim was born on June 27, 1948, the sixth child of the late Alva and Beulah Crenshaw in Cushing. He grew up in Cushing attending Hillside School and Cushing High School, graduating in 1966. He graduated from O.S.U. Okmulgee in 1969 from diesel mechanics. Jim later attended O.S.U. to obtain his teaching certificate. He married Mary Lea Morrison on June 27, 1969 in Okmulgee.
He worked oil field for Koch Industries, Bigheart Crute Oil, Oklahoma Fracturing, Canan Well services and Dresser Titan. After the oil bust, he worked at MWK Machine Shop. He spent the last 19 years of employment at Central Tech, first as a Diesel Mechanic and seven years as Machine Tool Instructor. He was involved with VICA. He was a board member of Yale Housing Authority and the Yale Sr. Citizens. He loved hunting and fishing with his grandsons and attending softball and baseball games. Being together with his family was very important to him. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Yale. He was also a member of Salt Fork Black Smithing Club a hobby he has enjoyed since childhood.
He is survived by his wife Mary of the home, sons William and wife Kellie of Broken Arrow, Jimmie Crenshaw and wife Rosielee of Verdigris, daughter Elaine McCraw of Agra, brothers Mike Crenshaw of Cushing, and Fred Crenshaw of Earlsborough, sister Alma Harmon of Rhome, TX., grandchildren Brian, Brandon, Justin, Bria, Jamiee, Chelson, Brayden, Tanner, great grandchildren Kaylee, Ethan, Eli, Lexi, Lorelei.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Beulah Crenshaw, sister Janies, brothers Derrell and Alva Jr.
