His age is no where near 1828 in any record. A mistake was simply made when his monument was ordered.

Together they had at least fourteen children; Jesse Edward, John A, Nancy A, William Riley, Luella Casander, Emily Frances, Electa Lyndonia, Ida M, Victoria Romain, Sarah Ester, Eura Otabein, Augusta Manchester, Ruby A and Savannah Almeda.

All historical documents imply John's date of birth was circa 1835 but his headstone clearly indicates 1828.
