OELWEIN - Memorial services for Dorothy Margaret Hendershott will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept.4, at Hinz-Geilenfeld Funeral Home, Oelwein, with the Rev. Ken Dalke officiating. Burial will be at a later date. The body has been deeded to research at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.
Mrs. Hendershott, 90, died at her home Wednesday, Sept.1, 1999, after a short illness.
She was born August 13, 1909, in Beach, N.D. to Charles and
Sophie (Guy Allen) Mallett. She graduated from Custer County High School in 1928 and attended college in Miles City. Mont. She married Fred Nearman in 1937 at Miles City. He died in 1940. She then married Spahr Hendershott in 1945 in San Fransisco, Calif. He preceded her in death in 1968. Mrs. Hendershott worked in several banks as a teller and bookkeeper. She was a member of West Minster Guild and Eastern Star.
Survivors include her son Irving Hendershott of Blackfoot, Idaho; three grandchildren and two sisters, Alice Prahl of Mobile, Ala, and Betty (Ralph) Shotliff of Missoula Mont.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands,
four brothers, Allen, Bud, David and Tom Mallett; and one sister Marjory Young.
