DeSPAIN, RUTH "LUCILLE," 83, of Louisville, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Orval DeSpain in April, 2008. Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Beverly Mattingly (Ken) and Dennis (Brenda) and Kevin (Kena) DeSpain; grandchildren, Alicia Thompson (Ebbie), Kelly Graves (Chad), Cory DeSpain (Tyler), Kody, Taylor and Ethan DeSpain, Mike Kane (Sue), Kimberly Bell (David), Brett Mattingly (Ashley) and Tyler Mattingly (Stephanie); 12 great grandchildren; and brother, James H. Thompson (Norma). Her funeral service will be held 10 A.M., Monday, October 5, 2009 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home Chapel; 3800 Bardstown Road, followed with interment in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3 8 P.M., Sunday, also at Ratterman & Sons. Memorial gifts may be made to either Hosparus of Louisville; 3532 Ephraim Mcdowell Dr., 40205, or to the Kentucky Department - Veterans Affairs; 321 W Main St. # 390, Louisville, KY 40202.

Her father was Luther Thompson and mother was Edith Taylor.
