M. (probably Margaret) Ruth Davidson was the daughter of William and Margaret (McConnell) Davidson. She married Samuel Humphries Williams in 1795 and they had at least 7 and probably 8 children:

Although the writer had her parents and husband correct, the story actually was about her 1st cousin, Ruth Davidson, daughter of Samuel Davidson, this Ruth's father's twin brother.
