Born April 19, 1914 in Ripley, Illinois a son of Lawrence and Rose Wort Stout. He married Mary Rang on October 28, 1936 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mt. Sterling: she survives.
Jim was a lifelong Farmer and had also worked as a feed salesman for Purina and Kent Feeds. He attended Myers School in Brown County and had also attended Camden High School.
A member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mt. Sterling, Jim was also a member of the National Farmers Organization and a breeder of Standardbred racehorses for over 20 years.
He always enjoyed woodworking and hunting.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2007 in the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mt. Sterling; Father Jeffrey Goeckner officiating.
Burial will be in the Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 Friday evening at the Hendricker Funeral Home, Mt. Sterling.
A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Friends may also call from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
